Superman: MAN OF STEEL

  • MAN OF STEEL

Antje True in Pandorum
Antje Traue, a German actress best known for appearing in 2009's Pandorum, appears to be the latest name to join the cast of Man of Steel.  Its been reported that Traue has been cast as the Kryptonian villainess Faora in the Superman reboot. This however, is still not official, as the studio didn’t announce it as yet, but we will tell you a little about the character anyway.

Sara Douglas - Ursa
Faora, who first appeared in the comic books in the late 1970's, was the basis for the character of Ursa, played by Sarah Douglas in Superman and Superman II. “A man-hating killer, Faora was banished to the Phantom Zone and, upon her escape, teamed with fellow Kryptonians General Zod and Jax-Ur to battle against Superman.”
Faora also appeared recently on "Smallville" as the wife of Zod, therefore it’s very much unclear what changes will be made to the character and what parts of her story will they keep.

THINK LIKE A MAN

  • THINK LIKE A GROWN LITTLE MAN

KEVIN HART
Tim Story (Fantastic Four films) has signed on to direct an adaptation of the Steve Harvey self-help book "Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man: What Men Really Think About Love, Relationships, Intimacy, and Commitment".

The film will star Kevin Hart, who will play a fictionalized version of Harvey, dispensing advise while trying to stop the decay of his own marriage.
The film will release simply as, Think Like A Man.

The official synopsis of the book is as follows:
“Steve Harvey, the host of the nationally syndicated Steve Harvey Morning Show, can't count the number of impressive women he's met over the years, whether it's through the "Strawberry Letters" segment of his program or while on tour for his comedy shows. These are women who can run a small business, keep a household with three kids in tiptop shape, and chair a church group all at the same time. Yet when it comes to relationships, they can't figure out what makes men tick. Why? According to Steve it's because they're asking other women for advice when no one but another man can tell them how to find and keep a man.”

Hart is a hilarious stand-up comedian (I'm A Grown Little Man), and his most recent appearance Little Fockers and Death at a Funeral. Tim Story, meanwhile, is best known as the director of both "Fantastic Four" films as well as the first Barbershop.

BRAVE + PIXAR SEQUELS

  • PIXAR NOT INCREDIBLE, ONLY BRAVE

Concept Art - Cars 2
Pixar is relatively not in the business of making sequels. There first sequel film was Toy Story 2, but no other franchise that they have made has had a sequel. However, after the success of last year's incredibly well-received Toy Story 3, Pixar has a couple of other follow ups in the making, including Cars 2 sechedule to release later this year and 2013's Monsters University, a prequel to Monsters, Inc.

Our source got to speak to John Lasseter who is a major player for Pixar, and asked him about a possible sequel to The Incredibles film; he answered, “We love those characters and love that world too, but there's nothing in the works right now."
Incredibles director Brad Bird is currently in post-production on his first live-action movie, Mission: Impossible Ghost Recon.

Pixar is currently working on Brave, there first film that will have a female main character.

Lasseter said they were very excited for the film, that will release after Cars 2. He also added that, “At Pixar we've always strived to have strong female characters, but granted, all of our films have had male main characters – though female characters have been very, very important in most of the films. But it's nice to have a film where the female is the main character."

Concept Art - Brave

He went on saying that, "It's also our first real, true period film. Incredibles is sort of a period film, in that it's set in a world that evokes the 60s. But this is really medieval Scotland and it's really fun to kind of go into this and to have this kind of legend and lore feel to it. But it's very, very modern in its main character and its arc and the desires and things. It's got phenomenal characters and the look of this thing is unlike anything you've ever seen. Even for Pixar, there's a gorgeous, unique look to this movie and it's very, very exciting."

  • AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!!

Director Joss Whedon
Marvel's The Avengers has begun shooting in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Marvel.com has released the first on-set photo. Think of it as a little teaser for all us fans.

The picture really doesn’t reveal much, except that you can see the reworked S.H.I.E.LD. logo  in the background! However, it does give us the sense of occasion and the magnitude of this project by having all these guys in one film!!!

Avenger Photo from the Set

Marvel also confirmed that Tom Hiddleston and Stellan Skarsgard would be reprising their roles from Thor, as Loki and Professor Erik Selvig, in the Avengers, which is scripted and directed by Joss Whedon (THE MAN THAT HAS ALL THE PRESSURE ON HIS SHOULDERS TO PROMISE US A CLASSIC FILM).
Joss Whedon              &        Fans' Concept Art

Bear in mind this  will Whedons’ First major block buster that he will be directing, with his other film credits just being Serenity, a film he directed back in 2005. Don’t let that get you worried as Whedon is a very good writer andis known as the man that created Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. He has worked with Marvel before and is a huge fan of thee Avengers. He also co-wrote Captain America: The First Avenger. We can probably assume that Whedon will stay true to the characters, but will he be able to pull them all in each others realities without destroying the realities that was set in each characters film?? The fighting and explosons will have to be BIG!! However, the storyline will have to be as well for this film not to be considered one of Hollywood’s most expensive and star studdered FLOPS!!!
Fans' Concept Art Avengers

Hilary Swank

Michelle Williams
Vulture claims that director Raimi wants to cast Oscar winner Hilary Swank, star of Boys Don’t Cry, Million Dollar Baby, & Conviction, in the role. Hilary and Raimi have worked together in The Gift, so the director feels that she would perfect for this role. However, Disney is demanding that Michelle Williams, star of Dawson’s Creek, BrokeBack Mountain & Blue Valentine, play the part.

SUPERMAN: MAN OF STEEL - PLOT (RUMORED)

THE RUMORED PLOT

Well we got some rumors that are currently circulating around the Superman: Man of Steel reboot. Its rumored that large sections of the film will be shot in West Africa as well as the States side, and if its true it will heavily mirror Mark Waid's Superman: Birthright limited series.

Bleeding Cool uncovered an alleged plot synopsis for Man of Steel over at The Baseline Studio System:
"A young reporter named Clark Kent roams the world covering various news stories. When he is compelled to use his secret powers to intervene in a crisis in West Africa, he returns to Smallville to learn more about his origins and the hero he was born to be."
This, in essence, is the same basic plot to the Birthright storyline.

Diane Lane, who plays Martha Kent in the film, recently said that the movie will cover Superman's life from infancy on, so that's in sync with Birthright's explorations of Superman's origins.

Well if this is the plot of the film, we will just have to wait and see how they plan on fitting General Zod into the film.

In related news, ChicagoBusiness.com claims that Man of Steel will film in the Chicago area for two to three months beginning in August, specifically in suburban Plano, Illinois. The production's not so secret local codename is said to be "Autumn Frost." One source said that there would be 10 weeks of prep followed by 10 weeks of filming there. "Outdoor scenes would be filmed here, with interiors shot in Vancouver, British Columbia," according to the site.
