G.I. JOE 2

G.I JOE 2 CAST 2 MORE
DJ Cotrona

RZA and DJ Cotrona are likely to join upcoming, and now Untitled G.I. Joe Sequel, according to a story at The Hollywood Reporter.

The film, to be directed by John Chu (Step Up 3D, Never Say Never), will continue the toy-inspired world depicted in 2009's G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra with a primarily new cast (except for the returning Channing Tatum as Duke and Ray Park as Snake Eyes). Newcomers include Dwayne Johnson as Roadblock and Elodie Yung as Jinx.

RZA, who next directs, writes and appears in The Man With The Iron Fists is expected to play a character called the Blind Master, who trained both Snake Eyes and Jinx. Though referenced in the animated "G.I. Joe" continuity, the character was never depicted in any form.

Cotrona (who was originally suppose to play Superman in Justice League when it was first being developed in 07), who previously appeared alongside Tatum in Dear John, will take on the role of Flint.

300: BATTLE OF ARTEMISIA

  • 300 YES THERE WILL BE A SEQUEL!!! BUT NO MAN OF STEEL

It would seem as the 300 sequel will be made, however it seems that Zack Snyder's involvement with Man of Steel is going to prevent him from returning for the 300 sequel, formerly titled Xerxes. Now, Deadline reports that the list of potential replacement directors is down to two: Noam Murro and Jaume Collet-Serra and that the film has officially been retitled 300: Battle of Artemisia.
Xerxes

Based on an upcoming comic book from 300 creator Frank Miller, the project is said to tell of the history of the "King of Kings" and his rise to power in fifth-century-BC Persia. Supposedly beginning about ten years before 300, the prequel would also offer an opportunity for Gerard Butler to reprise his role as Leonidas.

Murro's sole feature directing credit is the 2008 indie comedy/drama Smart People, though he's also responsible for the live-action marketing campaign for the video game franchise Halo and is attached to direct Die Hard 5. Jaume Collet-Serra, meanwhile, directed Orphan and, mostly recently, Unknown. He's also said to be helming the upcoming "Dracula" tale, Harker.

However, this is the film that put Zack Snyder on the map, and its because of his vision for the franchise that made the film what it was!!! He made this film classic!! Now is it really a good idea to go through with this film without the man that made this film what is, a particularly good idea??? We don't think so, but we will just have to see if we are indeed right!!! What do you think??

BULLET TO THE HEAD

  • BULLET TO THE BARBARIAN

After Conan the Barbarian, A Game of Thrones and Stargate: Atlantis, Jason Momoa finally looks like his about to leave his barbarian times behind him and enter the modern day, all be it with a Bullet to the Head.
Jason Momoa
We still calling to Bullet to the Head (as its based on a French comic of the same name), it was previously entitled Headshot and before that Next, either way it's the thriller about the cop and the hitman who join forces to take on the killer of their respective partners. Stallone is the assassin, Kang is the cop (replacing Thomas Jane), and Momoa will be playing Keegan, the villain of the piece.
Shooting starts imminently in Louisiana, after which Momoa plans to head down Mexico way for his post-apocalyptic water-shortage actioner The Samurai.

TOY STORY 4

  • TOY STORY 4???
While in an interview with the BBC about the upcoming film Larry Crowne, Tom Hanks has hinted that we just might see Toy Story 4.

When asked if there would be a Toy Story 4 for Hanks young daughter to watch, the two-time Oscar winner replied deadpan, "Yeah, I think there will be. Yeah, I think they're working on it now."

With Cars 2 out this summer and Monsters University due out in 2013, Pixar has shown that it isn't opposed to putting out sequels.

So far the Toy Story trilogy is seen as one of the most successful trilogies in terms of the performance at the Box Office, a great amount of praise by critics as well as fans alike.
So is it that necessary to make a fourth film?

FAST AND FURIOUS 6

  • FAST AND FURIOUS 6 GETS A RELEASE DATE

Universal Pictures has snagged a release date for the yet-untitled sixth installment of the "Fast and Furious" franchise, temporarily titled Fast and Furious 6, and according to Deadline, they'll be releasing the movie on May 24, 2013.

Produced by Neal Moritz, the franchise has grossed over $1.5 billion worldwide with the recent Fast Five having grossed nearly $600 million globally on its won.

There's no confirmation that director Justin Lin will be returning for his fourth movie in a row, although he's talked about completing the trilogy that began with 2009's Fast and Furious. There isn't any word on how much of the ensemble cast from Fast Five will be returning, but considering that they've established a new heist thriller format, one would expect at least Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson, who joined the franchise with the last film, playing a special forces agent sent to stop the street racing criminals.

We pretty sure we will see the entire cast reprise their roles, but we thinking now that this could finally bring the curtain down on this franchise.

TRANCE

James McAvoy

  • TRANCE

Last month, it looked like Danny Boyle was going to be recruiting Michael Fassbender for his next planned film, art heist thriller Trance. But in just a few short weeks, it appears that things have changed, with Fassbender’s X-Men: First Class co-star James McAvoy now in early discussions to take on one of the lead roles instead.
The plot will find an assistant at an art auction house planning daring robbery alongside a shady gang leader (McAvoy, if he signs). But the assistant suffers a blow to the head and loses his memory, prompting the gang to try to pry the information on the stolen painting’s whereabouts from his puzzled brain using a hypnotist’s skills.
Trance is already intriguing in that Boyle is aiming to shoot the film in September before letting the footage sit on a shelf while he toddles off to busy himself with coordinating the 2012 London Olympic opening ceremony next year. Once the pomp and circumstance is complete, he’ll head to the editing room to knock the thriller into shape ready for a planned release in March 2013. It remains to be seen whether he’ll meet that deadline, but given Boyle’s tenacity and work rate, we’re sure he’ll give it a good try.

ADVENTURES OF TOM SAWYER & THE HEALER

  • ADVENTURES OF TOM SAYWER THE HEALER

Fresh from his first film role in JJ Abrams’ Super 8, 15 year-old actor Joel Courtney is now in negotiations for two new parts, with the highest profile being a new adaptation of Mark Twain’s classic tale The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer.

Courtney will be the title character, an adventurous sort who heads out in search of trouble around 1850s Missouri. Jo Kastner is at work on the script and plans to make the movie his directorial debut. The plan is to kick off shooting the film this August in, Bulgaria. Which doesn’t sound like the most obvious place to recreate the American South, but we bet the tax breaks are attractive.
When he’s done with that, Courtney will move on to The Healer, which Giorgio Serafini is writing and directing.
The plot finds a sick father who takes his two teenage children into the woods to try to restore the family bonds they shared before their relationship was ruined by a bitter divorce. Courtney will be a resentful son who finally starts to warm up to his dad, only for supernatural events to intervene that leave him trapped in limbo between the world of the living and the dead.

In the USA you can catch SUPER 8 now in your cinemas!! In South Africa the film will release on July 22nd!!

SPY KIDS: ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD

  • SPY KIDS 3D + 4D

The latest entry into the Spy Kids franchise is promising to take on a whole new dimension with Aromascope, according to Dimension Films. The film will be titled Spy Kids: All the Time in the World, and will introduce the breakthrough technology on the big screen.

Probably thinking what’s 4D technology? Well it will be a 3D film with scent, as moviegoers will have eight special occasions throughout the film to interact via smell.

With each individual admission ticket, kids and parents will also receive an Aromascope card that has the eight numbers emblazed upon it. As the numbers flash on the movie screen, the audience will rub the corresponding number on their card and take a whiff to smell the action on the screen. 3D is nothing new to the Spy Kids franchise, with the third entry of the series, Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, providing the 3D glasses long before they were once again the cool thing to do.

"Families are going to love the interactivity of this new addition to the movie going experience. And best of all, you won't have to pay extra for 4D Aromascope, which will be provided to every theater whether it be 2D or 3D," said Robert Rodriguez.

Spy Kids releases in August this year!!

DJANGO UNCHAINED

  • DJANGO GETS FOXX

Quentin Tarantino has finally settled on the actor that he wants to play the lead character in his film, Django Unchained. Its not the fresh prince of Bel-Air, Will Smith, either . . . Nope it’s Jamie Foxx.

That’s rite despite Tarantino spending weeks trying to bring the I Am Legend to star to play a freed slave who goes up against a sadistic plantation owner to rescue his long-lost love, Smith passed on the chance to play the role. This in turn left the writer/director looking down the list of other possible candidates.
This list included many stars including, Idris Elba, Terrence Howard and Chris Tucker who actually met with the director. But, he chose to go with Foxx who was also part of the list.
Leonardo DiCaprio is already attached to play the villainous Calvin Candie, while Inglourious Basterds’ star, Christoph Waltz had the role of Django’s friend and mentor, a German bounty hunter named Dr. Schultz, written for him. Fellow Quentin Tarantino regular Samuel L. Jackson will be Candie’s right-hand man, Stephen.
Tarantino hasn’t yet found the actress he wants to play Broomhilda, the love of Django’s life, though Kerry Washington is one of the names under consideration for that part.

Either way this will be one the most star studded Tarantino films he has made, so look forward to it.

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES

  • PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES??? THIS IS AN EASY A!!!

You would of thought that this beautiful young star would of have enough of Zombies that she faced in Zombieland, but no, Emma Stone is contemplating an offer to star in Pride And Prejudice And Zombies.
Emma Stone
That’s rite, the Fright Night remake director Craig Gillespie is looking to Emma to bring all of her zombie-fighting experience to the period drama/horror mash-up based on Seth Grahame-Smith’s take on Jane Austen’s tale.
The film has been in development hell for quite a significant time, burning through directors such as David O. Russell and Mike White and losing star Natalie Portman in the process (she is still set to produce).
Stone would take over the lead role of Elizabeth Bennet, who, when she’s not dealing with her squabbling sisters, overbearing mother or the alternately patience-testing/heart-fluttering attentions of Mr. Darcy, has to help battle the roaming undead.
There’s no word yet on whether she’ll actually take the role, but Gillespie and the team are crossing their fingers, we are too… This could be something worth waiting for!!

IRON MAN 3 & AVENGERS

  • WAR MACHINE'S FUTURE

Collider got a chance to ask Don Cheadle about both Iron Man 3 and Marvel's The Avengers.  The War Machine stated that he will not be returning to Avengers but he will be back for Iron Man 3 and even gave a possible start date.

Here is part of the Interview from Collider:

Q: Are there any future Marvel movies that you might be appearing in?

CHEADLE: Well the Iron Man 3 is coming back. We'll probably do that again in February and there's talk of a War Machine spinoff, which I guess, unless I get recast, I would probably do.

Q: Will you be in The Avengers?

CHEADLE: Not this one that they're shooting right now. Thank god!

Q: Was that ever in the works?

CHEADLE: Me being in The Avengers? I have a contract to be in The Avengers but I'm glad they haven't exercised that option yet. I need some down time.

Walt Disney Pictures is planning on releasing Marvel Studios' Iron Man 3 on May 3, 2013. Shane Black will direct with Robert Downey Jr. returning to the role of Tony Stark/Iron Man.

THE CROW

  • WATCHMEN'S CROW

Relativity Media's President of Worldwide Production, Tucker Tooley, and Edward R. Pressman, producer behind the cult-classic "The Crow" franchise, announced today they have attached Alex Tse (Watchmen) to write their reinvention of The Crow, the 1994 critically film based on the comic book series and comic strip by James O'Barr.

Directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later), The Crow adaptation will be a gritty reboot of the gothic iconic character Eric Draven, who returns from the grave as The Crow on a mission to avenge his wife's murder, so that his soul can finally rest. Bradley Cooper (Limitless) is attached to star as Draven. "The original film is known for its breakthrough visual style as well as its unique production design and cinematography. Fresnadillo and Tse are perfectly suited to bring these beloved characters back to life, and to create a world worthy of this modern classic," said Relativity.

AVATAR 2 & 3

  • THE FUTURE OF AVATAR AS TOLD BY JAMES CAMERON

Fox News talked to James Cameron at the Covenant House Gala in Los Angeles where the filmmaker and his wife Suzy Amis were being honored for their philanthropic work in helping homeless youth. He talked about shooting Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 back-to-back.

"We're shooting two films back-to-back, so I'm writing two scripts, not one, which will complete a [three]-film story arc – not really a trilogy, but just an overall character arc so I'm pretty excited about that," he said. "We're doing a lot of preliminary work right now on new software and new animation techniques and so on. We're creating a new facility in Manhattan Beach so everybody that's not already dead is coming back."

And is he feeling the pressure now that Avatar is the highest-grossing film of all time with $2.78 billion worldwide?

"There's always an expectation. I had to deal with that after 'The Terminator' back in 1984. All of a sudden I had a big hit movie and it was 'what are you doing next?' But my job is take the audience on a journey and entertain them," he added. "The second I am sitting down writing, I just go to Pandora. I don't think about that stuff, about standing on a red carpet. It has its own life, really. The characters have their own lives."

Avatar 2 is scheduled to hit theaters in December of 2014 and Avatar 3 in December of 2015.

Howard, on the other hand, is still attached to direct The Dark Tower, which he said they are hoping to start shooting in spring 2012

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER - SHIELD FEATURETTE

  • THE FIRST AVENGER ON THE SHIELD

So if you are excited and anxious for The First Avenger to hit the Big Screen, here are some details about Caps Shield!!!

Hero Complex spoke to the film's director, Joe Johnston, about that heady topic. Watch out for shield spoilers.

"The whole thing about throwing the shield was given a lot of thought," Johnston tells the site. "And you know he just doesn't do it a lot in the movie. I'd say maybe four of five times? But when he does, it's a big deal; he really saves the day."

Johnston says that too much tossing around of the vibranium disc would defeat the purpose.

"He's not slinging it around all the time and using it randomly," he says. "He throws it when it's the right thing to do, and those are special moments. We opted to preserve those moments just to make them so special. … He uses the shield a lot for protection, as you would expect, and as a weapon, like a battering ram; he slams it down almost like an ax of sorts, and he uses it as a pry bar. But when he throws it, those are the highlight-reel moments."

Check out the Featurette, Chris Evans speaks about the Shield himself. ENJOY!!!

SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMEN

  • SNOW WHITE AND BLACK BEARD

Ian McShane comes fresh out Pirates of the Caribbean playing Blackbeard, to step in yet another role as a fantastical character in Snow White and the Huntsmen. He il be playing one of the seven Dwarfs in the film.
Ian McShane
Seeing that he isn’t quite a dwarf, we can only assume CG affects will shrink him down to size, in order to play Caesar, the leader of the dwarfs in the story that help Snow White (Kristen Stewart) when she’s marked for death by her evil stepmother (Charlize Theron). And not forgetting the Huntsman, played by Thor’s Chris Hemsworth, who is tasked with slaying Snow, but ends up training her to survive and fight back. (Not your typical Snow White . . . Clearly)
Rupert Sanders is directing the film, which is currently set to hit cinemas a couple of months after Tarsem Singh’s competing take on the tale. Sanders will start shooting in August, so we expect a blizzard of casting stories about the rest of the dwarfs and other characters to hit shortly.
Snow White And The Huntsman is due to be released on June 1, 2012.

HELLBOY 3

  • HELLBOY 3 MAYBE NO, WHY? NO DEL TORO

Guillermo Del Toro will not return to the Hellboy franchise.

Speaking at Calgary Comic-Con, Hellboy creator, writer and artist Mike Mignola, talking to The Daily Blam, said:

"Last I heard he said he would not make it [...] in every interview there's a new story on what his [Del Toro] next movie is and he honestly believes he's going to do all these things. But last I heard, he said 'I'm never gonna get back to Hellboy.' I'm not surprised because he won't live long enough to do a tenth of the movies he's told me he's going to make.

"I can't imagine him making a Hellboy 3."

Lets just point out that neither confirms or rejects the notion that Hellboy 3 could be hitting our screens anytime soon. Whether we will see a third installment, or a reboot or nothing at all, remains to be seen.

Will keep you posted on this one!

THE HOBBIT

  • THE HOBBIT GETS LOST

Peter Jackson, the director of the much-anticipated Lord of the Rings Trilogy, the Hobbit, has announced that Lost star, Evangeline Lilly (Also known for her role
In, Hurt Locker and will be seen in Real Steel), has been cast in The Hobbit.

Evangeline Lilly
In a Facebook posting, Jackson said, "Lilly will be playing a new character—the Woodland Elf, Tauriel. Her name means 'daughter of Mirkwood' and, beyond that, we must leave you guessing! (No, there is no romantic connection to Legolas.) What is not a secret is how talented and compelling an actress Evangeline is; we are thrilled and excited she will be the one to bring our first true Sylvan Elf to life."

Jackson also revealed another and perhaps more curious bit of casting for The Hobbit: "I'm also highly excited that Barry Humphries will be portraying the Goblin King, in much the way Andy Serkis created Gollum. Barry is perhaps best known for his business and social connections as the long-time manager of Dame Edna Everage. He has also been an ardent supporter of the rather misunderstood and unfairly maligned Australian politician, Sir Les Patterson. However, in his spare time, Barry is also a fine actor, and we're looking forward to seeing him invest the Goblin King with the delicate sensitivity and emotional depth this character deserves."

LES MISERABLES

  • HUGH JACKMAN JUST IS MISERABLE

Though he’s proved time and time again that he’s got some serious musical chops, Hugh Jackman has only rarely had the chance to show them off on the big screen. But now it looks like he’ll get a real challenge, as The King’s Speech director Tom Hooper wants him to star in his new, cinematic musical version of Les Miserables.
Hugh Jackman
Jackman boasts a tenor voice, which means that he’d most likely play Jean Valjean; a man recently released from prison that finds a way to re-invent his life and becomes a wealthy factory owner and mayor. But the dedicated police officer Javert is on his trail in the story, which takes place during the French Revolution...
The stage show, which was originally produced by Cameron Mackintosh, has become one of the most successful musicals of all time, with productions still running in several cities. Gladiator’s William Nicholson has written the script, which Hooper will direct for Universal. And thought Jackman’s still only in talks, he has been on the hunt for new projects after The Wolverine got shoved back into limbo.

SNOW WHITE

  • SNOW WHITE TO START FILMING

The film also stars Armie Hammer (The Social Network) as the object of their affection, Prince Andrew Alcott, and Nathan Lane (The Birdcage) as the hapless and bungling servant to the Queen.

MAN OF STEEL

  • JOR-EL IS A GLADIATOR

Jor-El, Superman’s kryptonial father, has been cast. Yes ladies and gentleman he is a Gladiator he is Russell Crowe.
Russel Crowe                           Marlon Brando Original Jor-El

THE EXPENDABLES 2

  • SIMON WEST IS EXPENDABLE

It appears that a director has been recruited to helm The Expendables 2.

Deadline reports that Simon West (The Mechanic, Con Air, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider) has been lined up to succeed Sylvester Stallone in the director's chair.

Stallone will reprise his acting duties, though. In addition to Sly, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren and Terry Crews are all expected back as well. However, other Action stars will probably also be recruited to beef this film up, whether they good or bad guys, will remain to be seen.

Lionsgate has slated Expendables 2 for an August 17, 2012 release.

THE WOLVERINE

  • KATE & LEOPOLD & THE WOLVERINE?????

James Mangold                 Hugh Jackman The Wolverine
It looks like the new director for The Wolverine has been found. Deadline is reporting that both 20th Century Fox and Hugh Jackman have decided they want James Mangold to direct the film and that negotiations are about to get underway to secure Mangold's deal.

Deadline says production on the Japan-set The Wolverine, which was delayed after Darren Aronofsky departed the project, will finally begin, come September. Mangold apparently beat out the final short list for the Wolverine gig, which included Gavin O'Connor (Warrior) and Antoine Fuqua (Training Day).

Mangold's rather eclectic career includes Cop Land, Girl, Interrupted, Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma and Knight and Day. Amusingly, this will be his second film with Hugh Jackman, after the less than fanboy friendly Kate & Leopold, which also starred Jackman's X-Men Origins: Wolverine costar Liev Schreiber.

Schreiber is not expected to return for the Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) penned The Wolverine.  This will be a completely different Wolverine film, with Logan being the star player, and no other X-men to be seen. This will finally be the characters stand alone movie, and its based on Frank Millers 1980’s comic of the character, where he goes to Japan and has some awesome adventures.

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH

  • BEN STILLER WANTS TO JOIN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Ben Stiller is pondering on starring in another long-planned film, Neighborhood Watch.
Ben Stiller
The LA Times reports that Stiller is seriously looking at the film which has been in the works for ages and has consistently attracted comedy types and directors to it, with Will Ferrell, Wedding Crashers' David Dobkin and Get Smart's Peter Segal all attached at different times.
If he did sign on, Stiller would play an experienced city dweller that moves out to the suburbs and is roped into joining the local neighborhood watch. Thinking it’ll be a boring chore of wandering the streets with a torch, he soon realizes there’s far more to the local streets than meets the eye, including some extraterrestrial encounters.

BEN10

  • BEN 10 GETTING HOLLYWOOD TREATMENT

One of the Cartoon Network's biggest players in the animated children's market is looking to make the leap from the TV display to the big screen. Ben 10, the beloved franchise that has spurn many spin-offs and sequels, is looking to be made into a live-action movie for theaters, thanks to producer Joel Silver.

Variety is reporting the developments. The series has always consistently done well in the ratings, and the television movie, Ben 10: Race Against Time, managed to draw over 4 million fans in its timeslot. If the film manages to hit theaters, Warner Bros. would likely be the ones distributing it, seeing as how they go hand-in-hand with Turner Broadcasting's home video distribution of the animated series and all.

Silver has failed to bring another animated franchise to the big screen with the flop Speed Racer, though in his defense, it's not exactly as if the material was fresh and new with audiences in the same way that a potential Ben 10 big screen adaptation could be, which is still a hit with kids of all ages. Says Silver regarding Speed Racer, "I tried to do [something similar] with Speed Racer and failed miserably. You always learn more from the ones that don't work than the ones that do work."

IRON MAN 3 & AVENGERS

  • FAVREAU & DOWNEY SPEAK ABOUT IRON MAN

Splash Films, managed to track down director Jon Favreau and speak to him about his latest film, Cowboys & Aliens. However, to there surprise, Robert Downey Jr. soon joined Favreau and soon the topic moved to Iron Man 3 and the Avengers. Here is what they had to say.

Favreau, whose now a producer on Iron Man 3 spoke about how he would help Shane Black, take over the franchise he left;
"Hopefully I can be helpful because I want to see this thing grow and transform. And actually, when it finally landed on Shane, it was like, 'All right, that's going to be something interesting.' Especially because it's going to be so difficult for whoever does that one because although it's Iron Man 3, the whole Avengers thing… I guess in comics you can say that it's an individual storyline and you can break it off into a group. But in movies, it's hard not to take into consideration what just happened. What are you going to say? 'They all just lost their cell phones and you can't get help?' So it's going to take a lot of ingenuity to make it make sense to a mainstream film audience as well as a comic book audience.

Downey on the other hand, is shooting Avengers, so here are his thoughts on that:
"Well, I hate everybody. [Audience laughs] I'm not talking about the cast; I'm not talking about Joss. What I mean is I tend to look at a scene and say, 'This is absolutely impossible, we can't shoot this, it's horrible. I can tell you 10 other movies it's been in, I refuse.' I usually start off the morning by refusing to do what I've signed on to do. So I brought that attitude, happily. I just thought, 'How are you going to put all of us clowns together? He's wearing a suit, he's all jacked up, he's so and so and poor Mark Ruffalo, he's gonna outdo us.' And we're about six weeks in and I have to say Joss Whedon is nailing it. He's so smart and so good. And it's gonna be great. I can't believe I just said it, I never could've believed this but it's gonna be great."

Iron Man 3 is looking at 2013 release in May, and Avengers will be released in May 2012.

NOAH

  • NOAH TO BE A DARK KNIGHT??

Darren Aronofsky has consistently put out tremendous movies throughout his career, ranging from the ultimate anti-drug PSA in Requiem for a Dream to the Academy Award-winning Black Swan, and now he is looking to break the box office with a $130 million endeavor about the end of the world. Hey, what's not to like already? The stakes are raised a bit higher with Christian Bale's name thrown into the mix.
Christian Bale

New York Mag's Vulture has the scoop on these developments, namely that Aronofsky is looking to add some star appeal to his upcoming feature blockbuster, Noah, which puts a theatrical spin on the Biblical tale that will feature the razor's edge-entertainment that Aronofsky is known to walk on. This will certainly rile up some Christians out there, that's for certain.

Talks are reportedly in place for The Dark Knight star to take the leading role as Noah, the old man who braved the elements to save the Animal Kingdom. We will keep you in the loop regarding how far along the negotiations get...

MYTH

  • JAMES CAMERON'S MYTH

                 James Cameron                     Sam Worthington
James Cameron is planning to team with Will Staples, a writer from the Call of Duty games, for a "sci-fi action project." They'll be joined by Cameron's Avatar star Sam Worthington and Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura.

Heat Vision reports that 20th Century Fox is in early talks with Staples to acquire his pitch, which is called Myth. Cameron is already attached to executive-produce and di Bonaventura and Worthington are attached as producers.

Cameron won't direct the film -- he's spending the next 15 years making Avatar sequels at the Earth's core, don't you know? -- and at this point in the proceedings Worthington won't star either. Might depend on how Clash of the Titans 2 turns out!

"Nothing is known about Myth other than it's big, it's sci-fi, and it's got lots of action," says HV.

  • FAST FIVE. . .  NEXT

First reported this past April, Warner Bros. is moving forward with the project formerly referred to as Headshot with Walter Hill directing and Sylvester Stallone starring. Now it has been announced that Sung Kang from Fast Five has joined the project as well and that the film with be jointly produced by Dark Castle Entertainment, IM Global and After Dark Films.
Sung Kang in Fast Five

Set to begin production in Louisiana this month, the film is based on the graphic novel Bullet to the Head, written by Matz and illustrated by Colin Wilson. The movie tells the story of a New Orleans hitman (Stallone) and a New York City cop who form an alliance to bring down the killers of their respective partners.

The project will re-team Stallone with producer Joel Silver, who worked with him on Demolition Man and Assassins. Silver also worked with Hill on 48 Hours, Warriors and the television series "Tales From the Crypt."

Though the project was, initially, said to be titled Headshot, the most recent reports from the studio suggest that this was merely a working title.

Kang's role is currently unspecified, but could potentially be that of the New York City cop. Kang is best known playing Han in the three most recent sequels to The Fast and the Furious, a character he originated with director Justin Lin in 2002's Better Luck Tomorrow.

G.I. JOE 2: COBRA STRIKES

  • THE ROCK, AND TATUM GET A BABE

French actress Elodie Yung is in negotiations to take over the babe role in G.I. Joe 2.

Elodie Yung to play Jinx
Heat Vision reports that Yung will play a ninja Joe called Jinx.

She'll join Dwayne Johnson and Channing Tatum in the sequel, though much of the original film's cast reportedly are not returning. Yung can be seen in District 13: Ultimatum, which according to Heat Vision featured a scene where "she took on corrupt cops with a knife in her ponytail." That works.

Jinx's origin details tells us how, while she was on vacation in Japan, she "discovered her familial ties to a ninja clan known as the Arashikage, and was officially initiated into the clan. She was then recruited by Snake-Eyes, a fellow ninja and member of the G.I. Joe Team."

TRANSFORMERS 3

  • SHIA IS DONE WITH TRANSFORMING ROBOTS

In a new interview, Shia LaBeouf has stated what we all pretty much knew anyway: He's done with Transformers.

MTV's inestimable Kara Warner has the report on Bumblebee's best pal, who has said that once Transformers: Dark of the Moon is released this summer, he's finished with the giant robots in disguise.

"I'm not coming back to do another one," says the actor. "I don't think [director Michael Bay] will either. It still is a hot property, I think, especially coming out of the third one. So I imagine they'll reboot it at some point with someone else."

Not that it will be easy to see a young up-and-comer hanging with the Autobots.

"You have an onus in it. I'll enjoy it. I'll go [see it] opening night, I'll be there. But there is a disconnect," continues LaBeouf, before joking that, "It's mine, dude. … It's mine."

He's also high on Dark of the Moon, saying it's the best of the three Transformers films.

"It's the best action, in terms of the geography," he says. "In the second one, you get confused as to who's fighting who and where you are, because it's such a big landscape. This one is Black Hawk Down-ish. It's one location, and the geography is simple to understand. … [Bay] did the 3D in a different way than anyone has ever done it before. James Cameron has seen the movie; he said it's the best 3D since Avatar, so there's all that. Also, this is our best story. It's the most solid screenplay we've had since we started."

Transformers release on 1st of July worldwide

He added "it's funny how everyone looks so entirely iconic in their own individual way, but then together there's a whole different level of iconography."

You can watch the interview over at MTV.

The Avengers, written and directed by Joss Whedon, is due for release on May 4, 2012.

INSANE IN-LAWS

  • HORRIBLE IN-LAWS NEED A CHANGE UP

Has if Jason Bateman doesn’t have enough roles already. The comedy star will be seen soon in Horrible Bosses (We think this could be the best comedy of the year) and will co-star with Ryan Reynolds in The Change Up. Yet Bateman is already getting ready to subject himself to more problems on the comedy front, entering early talks to co-star with Vince Vaughn in The Insane Laws.
Jason Bateman
If Bateman signs on, he’ll play Vaughn’s best pal, forming a pair who have been inseparable since before college. While they’ve both grown, gotten married and had kids, they’re remained close. But then the friendship is tested when Vaughn’s daughter – who, not so coincidentally, has secretly fallen for Bateman’s son – falls pregnant.
Jeremy Garelick would direct the film, and this could easily be one thee best comedies for 2012.

1952

  • LOST IN 1952

Damon Lindelof is finally gaining recognition and reward for the show that he produced, Lost, by signing a seven-figure deal to script and produced a big budget film for Disney.

Damon Lindelof
Deadline has the report on the project, a "large-scale film that can play to a family audience." The film has a working title of 1952, though no other details have been let loose from loose lips yet.

The plan is to go multi-platform with this project. Meaning, Movie, TV show (probably animated), Books, and so forth.

Since Lost, Lindelof has had a hand in Cowboys & Aliens (with fellow J.J. Abrams alumni Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci), he rewrote Ridley Scott's Alien prequel, that eventually turned into Prometheus (Nothing to do with Alien), and he's back with Kurtzman and Orci for Star Trek 2 as well. The Disney film won't start cooking until after the Trek script is done.
