G.I. JOE: RETALIATION (Interesting)

GI JOE: Retaliation

  • G.I. JOE: RETALIATION

G.I. Joe: Retaliation looks to be positioning itself as the most fun action movie of the summer, and there’s an unlikely director behind it all.

Jon Chu, best known for documentary Justin Bieber: Never Say Never and two Step Up sequels, is taking the helm this time around, and he was supported by a reshuffled cast that now includes Johnson, Willis and Adrianne Palicki, as well as returnee Channing Tatum (We think dies in the first 15minutes! Its not spoiler you see it, in the trailer).

When we asked Chu how his movie would be different to Stephen Sommers' G.I. Joe, he told us: “We’re different filmmakers and have different views on what G.I. Joe is.”

“I love the reality of our Joes. They have relationships with each other, aspirations; they care about the people of the world.

“We’re trying to add a lot more of that rather than doing cartoon fights with laser guns: everything is very practical and we’re doing as many physical things as possible – it’s not all greenscreen.”

G.I. Joe: Retaliation opens on 22 June 2012.
