THE RED STAR (Director Found)

  • THE RED STAR

Josh Trank is now attached to direct the Warner Bros. adaptation of the comic book series The Red Star, Deadline reports.

Set in an alternate reality's Soviet Russia, the comic book series' world blends magic and technology. The official site describes the book as follows.

An award-winning graphic novel, "The Red Star" is about an epic battle in a world of militarized sorcery and monolithic technology, where -- unknown to all but a few -- the ghosts of old soldiers continue to fight alongside the living.

First launched in 1999 by Image Comics, "The Red Star" was created by Christian Gossett who, along with his creative team, launched Archangel Studios in 2002 and self-published subsequent issues.

Josh Trank name was recently mentioned as a possible director for Sony’s Spider-man spinoff, Venom film. Could this means that we will have to wait a little longer for a Venom film, or will it fall back into development hell? Either way, it seems we just have to wait a little while longer before we get to see Venom hit the big screen.
