Previously known for starring as Carmen Cortez in Robert Rodriguez's original Spy Kids trilogy, Alexa Vega made headlines last month after releasing an image of her decidedly more adult role in the director's upcoming Machete Kills.

The Hollywood Reporter spoke with the star and got a bit more information about her role in the film as KillJoy.

"The first time I walked out in my outfit on set," Vega says, "everyone was like, 'Wow, you're not allowed to wear that!'"

Her character said to be "the bodyguard of a whore house,” so its quite clear that Vega is definitely shedding her childhood status in order to be taken seriously as an actress, and after seeing that pic, it would seem that she will be doing that rather successfully.

Vega joins Danny Trejo, Mel Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Demian Bichir, Amber Heard, Sofia Vergara, Zoe Saldana, Charlie Sheen, Lady Gaga and Vanessa Hudgens in the 20th Century Fox film.

In the sequel, ex-federale Machete (Trejo) is recruited by the U.S. government to stop an arms dealer (Gibson) from launching a deadly missile.

A few weeks ago it was announced that Joss Whedon had signed a deal with Marvel that would keep him with company until 2015. During this time he would help creatively on some of the Marvel films leading into Avengers 2, which he will return to direct. As part of the peal he Whedon would also be developing a TV series for Marvel, however what the series would be about remaining a mystery, until now!

ABC has picked up Joss Whedon's "S.H.I.E.L.D." to the pilot stage as a part of his exclusive deal with Marvel Studios. It wasn't long after this was reported that we all started to wonder where it would fit into the larger scheme of the Marvel films.

Variety now has some quotes from Whedon about the project that said not to call it a 'spinoff.' Whedon also said the film will be 'autonomous' to The Avengers sequel that he is writing and directing.

Whedon will write the pilot alongside his brother, Jed Whedon, and Maurissa Tancharoen (who previously worked with Whedon on "Dollhouse" and "Doctor Horrible's Sing-Along Blog"). All three will also join Jeffrey Bell and Jeph Loeb as executive producers. It's rumored that Whedon may also direct the pilot, but that nothing is confirmed at this time.

Production on the live-action project will begin immediately, with Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Tancharoen executive producing alongside Jeffrey Bell and Marvel TV's Jeph Loeb.

S.H.I.E.L.D. marks Whedon's return to the small screen. He most recently served as showrunner on Dollhouse, in addition to cult favorites Buffy andFirefly. Tancharoen and Jed Whedon were writer-producers on Dollhouse as well as Starz's Spartacus.

So how involved will Whedon be? Variety's Cynthia Littleton tweeted that "[Joss] reserves right to pepper in bits here and there. His bro Jed and Maurissa T. will be showrunners, he'll just show up every now and then 'and take credit for everything.'"

With the Pilot given the green light we have to say that it wont be long until we see the agents of SHIELD pop up on our TV screens on a weekly basis.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy and Tobey Maguire are teaming to produce a drama about animal poaching, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter. Compared to Steven Soderbergh's Traffic, the idea is said to have originated with Hardy and is based on some friends' actual experiences fighting animal trading on an international scale.

DiCaprio has, for years, been a staunch supporter of animal rights. He can be seen acting alongside Maguire in next summer's The Great Gatsby. He also starred alongside Hardy in Christopher Nolan's Inception.

Still very early in the planning stages, the project is currently without a screenwriter and the trio of talent is currently only attached to produce. There's not yet word on whether or not any or all of them might star.

Emma Stone is the subject of a new interview at Interview Magazine, conducted by director Cameron Crowe, who she will be working with in her next yet-to-be-titled film.

In addition to quite a bit of in-depth discussion about her life on-screen and off, Stone talks about her role as Gwen Stacy in this past summer's The Amazing Spider-Man and reveals that she's rooting for the young Midtown Science High School student to meet the same fate as in the comics.

"[Fans ask] about whether or not the films are going to stay true to her story," Stone says. "Which I'm hoping they are... Essentially the argument is that Spider-Man kills her by accident. So the person she loves is the person who kills her, which is the most horrifying thing. Apparently people unsubscribed to the comic book when that happened because they were just so flipped-out over it. But, of course, I want to stay true to that."

Gwen Stacy's death was originally presented in the now-iconic "The Amazing Spider-Man' #121, published in 1973, ten years into the book's run.

Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci have signed on to produce the upcoming Universal Pictures fantasy project Dragonology, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter.

The non-fiction books by Dugald A. Steer are based on the conceit that dragons actually exist as revealed by the Victorian dragonologist Ernest Drake. An underlying theme is that dragons should be studied and revered in the same way as any rare species.

Hartman's fantasy adventure take revolves around a group of dragonologists who go on a globetrotting quest to keep a corrupt man from taking control of the world's dragons and using them to wipe out humanity.

Kurtzman and Orci as best known for their writing work on the first two Michael Bay Transformers films and for J.J. Abrams' Star Trek and its still untitled 2013 sequel.
