- BRIDGET JONES 3
Following a report earlier this year that Bridget Jones' Diary author Helen Fielding had begun writing a third installment of her best-selling book series comes confirmation that a third film is on the way as well and, as EW reports, it has now been green lit by Universal Pictures and Working Title films.
Renee Zellweger |
The original film, released in 2001, starred Renée Zellweger, Hugh Grant and Colin Firth and earned an impressive $544.4 million worldwide. It was then followed by the sequel, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason in 2004.
Earlier in the year, Fielding hinted that Bridget having a mid-thirties baby crisis would a central plot in the novel, though she was uncertain at that time if the third novel and the third film would feature the same storyline.
