LONE SURVIVOR (Cast Rumours)

  • LONE SURVIVOR

Casting is now underway for Peter Berg's Navy SEAL tale, Lone Survivor, and Deadline reports that Ben Foster, Taylor Kitsch and Mark Wahlberg are all in talks to play three of the four key SEALs.

Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch & Ben Foster might be Lone Survivors
Based on the memoirs of Marcus Luttrell, the film details Luttrell's ordeal as a SEAL, heading into Afghanistan after a Taliban leader and emerging as the sole survivor.

Luttrell bonded with Berg, a fellow Texas native, who had used Navy SEALS in the making of The Kingdom, paving the way for Universal to buy the novel and underlying life rights for Berg's Film 44, Akiva Goldsman's Weed Road Productions and Barry Spikings' Spikings Entertainment.

Kitsch, who headlines Walt Disney Pictures' John Carter that releases this weekend in South Africa, was previously rumored for a role. He worked with Berg on the upcoming Battleship.

HEADHUNTERS (Cast News)

  • HEADHUNTERS

Mark Wahlberg in Contraband
Every now and then good foreign film gets released, but then an English adaption will soon follow. The same will be said of Morten Tyldum's 2011 thriller Headhunters, based on the novel by Jo Nesbo, which Summit Entertainment as got the rights to.

The film follows a corporate headhunter named Roger Brown, who finds himself the target of someone who wants his job just a little bit more, and it's been received very well on the film festival circuit, even playing last week as part of Lincoln Center's Film Comment Selects.

While doing press in England for his remake of the Icelandic crime-thriller Contraband, Wahlberg told ShortList Magazine that he's interested in getting involved with the planned remake of Headhunters

As he told the magazine:

"I saw a film recently called Headhunters. It's a Norwegian film and it's one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. I met with the director and pleaded with the studio that has the rights so we'll see if we get anywhere with that."

Sacha Gervasi (The Terminal) is readapting the novel for the English language film but Wahlberg's statement seems to imply that Summit already has a director in mind, even though that hasn't been announced as of yet.

Hopefully they will add Mark Wahlberg to this film.

GHOSTBUSTERS 3 (NO BILL MURRAY)

  • GHOSTBUSTERS 3

We won't get to see a Movie of This!!
Dan Aykroyd talked vaguely about Ghostbusters 3 and Bill Murrays involvement, but he has now confirmed to The Telegraph that Bill Murray won't be a part of Ghostbusters 3, if the film gets made at Sony Pictures (Which we highly doubt now)

"I honestly don't know. At this point it's in suspended animation," he said when asked about the film's status. "The studio, the director Ivan Reitman and Harold Ramis feel there must be a way to do it, but Bill Murray will not do the movie. He doesn't want to be involved. He's got six kids, houses all over America. He golfs in these tournaments where they pay him to turn up and have a laugh. He's into this life and living it. I know we'd have a lot of fun [but] I can't be mad at him. He’s a friend first, a colleague second. We have a deep personal relationship that transcends business and he doesn’t want to know."

Aykroyd previously said that one possibility would be to recast Murray's role, but he adds that they are "not going to do a movie that exploits the franchise. The script has to be perfect. I'm the cheerleader, but I'm only one voice in the matter. It's a surety that Bill Murray will not do the movie, however there is still interest from the studio."

Without Bill Murray this doesn’t seem right, What do you guys think??
