Its been a long time since Walt Disney Pictures first announced that they had brought David DiGilio aboard to pen a followup to 2010's TRON Legacy.

Anxious fans should be able to rest a bit easier as io9 has managed to grab an update on the project from the writers of the "Legacy," Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis.

"Joe [Kosinski] is right now shooting 'Oblivion'," explains Kitsis, hinting that it's likely the Legacy director will return to the franchise, "but we've had a lot of meetings and conversations and we've seen the first draft of the 'TRON' sequel. Sometimes movies don't happen as quickly as you want... Our hope is to get something going sooner [rather than later]."

What's more, both writers offered a brief tease about the potential return of Jeff Bridges' Kevin Flynn.

"I would say the definition of life and death in the digital realm..." began Horowitz.

"...will be explored in the sequel." finished Kitsis.

So Tron fans can rest easy, as the third Tron film will be coming your way, you just have to wait a little while longer.
