JUSTICE LEAGUE (Script out the Window)

  • JUSTICE LEAGUE

Ever since Marvel broke bank with Avengers making $1.5 Billion at the box office, Warner Bros. and DC started making plans for there own extraordinary group of Superheroes, The Justice League. Soon after a Justice League film was announced, scribe Will Beall (Gangster Squad) was hired to tackle the screenplay.

Justice League
Many fans were concerned if Justice League will be as good as Avengers, and up till this point, WB has been there fair share to keep fans from losing there faith. Last week, it was reported that WB would be waiting to see how would Man of Steel perform before they would greenlight Justice League. Over now it would seem they have hit another obstacle.

The guys over at Badass Digest, have heard from numerous reliable sources that Beall’s script has been scrapped.  According to these sources the script is “terrible,” with some even saying that the quality of the screenplay is the reason why WB has been unable to land a good director. Beall’s story would have involved the villain Darkseid and “a heavy cosmic threat,” with Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Green Lantern set as the film’s primary heroes, but if his script is indeed being thrown out, that could mean a wholly new story and/or different characters.
Up until now a 2015 release looked possible, however having to possibly hire a new screenwriter and having it done in time to get a new director, who might want to re-work the screenplay himself, prolonged casting process, pre-production, principal photography and post-production might just mean that a Justice League film might have to pushed to a Christmas release in 2015 or possibly June/July 2016.

We should hear more regarding the film soon as we approach the June 14th release of Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel.
