- GHOSTRIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE
Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance smashes into South African
cinemas this Friday, and its star Nicolas Cage is apparently already looking to
get back in action for a third round as the flame-skulled anti-hero.
“I know Nic wants to do it, he's very pumped about it,” says
co-director Mark Neveldine. “We'll just wait to see how well [this] does.”
Cage was famously keen to get the Ghost Rider series back on
the track after the disappointing original, and he seems to have found the
ideal duo for the franchise in Crank helmers Neveldine and Bryan Taylor.
The love appears to be mutual. “He's such an incredible
force,” says Taylor. “When you've got a weapon like that, you don't want to
leave anything on the table.”
Cage then spoke about the appeal of Johnny Blaze, and
explains inspiration that was channelled into his crazed performance.
“It’s kind of a philosophical superhero,” says Cage. “This
is a pretty psychedelic movie, which in this day and age is quite brave for a
studio film.”
