KICK-ASS 2 (Arron Johnson Speaks)

  • KICK-ASS 2

Kick-Ass 2 is finally moving forward at a gingerly pace, with Universal having given the project the green light and Matthew Vaughn taking up a producer role and handing over the directors’ chair to Jeff Wadlow.

Aaron Johnson has also confirmed that he will be back for Kick-Ass 2 as he was recently talking about hiss latest project:

“It’s pretty much set to go, this Fall,” says the star. “I think now ChloĆ« [Moretz] and Chris [Mintz-Plasse] are on board. I’m certainly set up to do it. Jeff Wadlow is to direct. Yeah, I think it’s going to happen.”

Aaron Johnson will return 2 get his Ass-Kicked again.
When asked as to whether he has taken a look at the new script, Johnson confirmed that he has, and that in terms of R-rated violence and sweariness, “it keeps the standard from the first film.” He also makes the point that Vaughn’s involvement as producer should ensure the two films feel suitably similar in both tone and quality.

“I think that’s why Matthew Vaughn has got his name all over this one, as well,” he says of the demand for a second film. “The only way he was ever going to make a sequel was if it could be anywhere close to the first one, and keep that class and that quality, and just maintain something original and new and refreshing. And this script delivers all of that, right now. I’m excited to get back in the suit.”

Creator Mark Millar recently confirmed that the story will follow Mintz-Plasse’s character as he begins to follow in the footsteps of his villainous father, pitting him against Hit-Girl and Kick-Ass once more.

The film is expected to arrive at some point in 2013, with a release date yet to be confirmed.
