007's CANNIBAL & TOMB RAIDER DEFINITE RETURN...

007’s CANNIBAL

The British press always has major details on 007, and they still do. The latest bit of news to come out of the British tabloids, is that, Oscar winner Sir Anthony Hopkins of Hannibal the Cannibal fame is "close to signing a deal" to play the villain in Bond 23.

"The only stumbling block seems to be the number of films he is signing up for. There is a chance the character they want him to play could become a regular feature, like Blofeld back in the day," according to the tabloid's source.

Seeing as how Hopkins has taken a slew of paycheck roles of late -- The Rite, The Wolfman, Beowulf and Thor all spring to mind -- it's not inconceivable that he could agree to play a Bond villain.

TOMB RAIDER DEFINITE RETURN…
Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft
Last year, Crystal Dynamics announced that they will be rebooting the Tomb Raider series of games with a new adventure that focuses on the origins of Lara Croft and her rise to fame as an archaeologist/slash adventurer.

The New Lara Croft for the GAME's SERIES
Now it seems that Hollywood will be doing much of the same. Miss Croft has had one of the more successful transitions from games to film, with two previous movie adventures starring Angelina Jolie.

It's clear the new game is taking a far different approach to portraying Lara, opting for a more realistic and less sexualized take. Should the movies follow suit? Mmm we not to sure about that.
