CHRONICLE 2 (Producer speaks)

  • CHRONICLE 2 BE THE SAME

Chronicle
Max Landis was the man who penned an incredible script for probably one of thee most memorable superhero/POV film’s to date with Chronicle. Given the films box office and critical acclaim, a sequel is really a no brainer. However it would seem that Fox is a little upset with Landis approach to the film. Instead of further exploring the mysteries left behind from the first film, Fox is now demanding more of the same.
Max Landis

Max's father, producer John Landis, recently spoke to the controversy surrounding Chronicle 2, as well as the artistic disagreements between the two parties in question. "[Max] wrote a sequel, and it's amazing, and the studio read it and said, 'We want Chronicle again!' And he said, 'No, this is the sequel, it's the evolution,' and they said 'No, we want that movie again!' So it's difficult, we're dealing with a difficult business," Landis told The Playlist.

Last month at Stan Lee's Comikaze, Max Landis had expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming film and his plans to continue the found footage story, which would have involved characters from the previous movie.

However, it now looks like Landis might not get his wish to tell the story the way he wants to, as Fox is dead set on giving us more of the same, which is a damn shame if you ask me. Landis out done himself with the first film, why Fox don’t want him to make a sequel the way he wants to, is beyond me.

So let me know what you think, do you want to see Landis sequel the way he wants to do it, or do you want more of the same like Fox.
