Will Captain Marvel be in Avengers 2???
Avengers 2 might still be less then 3 years away with, 5 other awesome Marvel films in different stages of development, but that hasn’t deterred some awesome but probably completely false rumours from being spread about the Marvel Billion dollar tentpole film’s sequel.

British tabloid The Daily Mail claims English actresses Emily Blunt (Looper) and Ruth Wilson (Luther) "are both hotly tipped" for the role of Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, formerly known as Ms. Marvel, in Marvel's The Avengers 2.

Danvers was recently promoted from Ms. Marvel to Captain Marvel and given a new costume and comic series.

Blunt was initially offered the role of Black Widow in Iron Man 2 before having to drop out and her husband, actor John Krasinski, was once a top contender for the role of Captain America, and seeing as how Zachary Levi was cast as Fandral in Thor before he had to drop out, with Josh Dallas stepping in for that film, now dropping out for Thor: The Dark World with Levi stepping back in for that role. Blunt might just be stepping in the role.

However, you would still want to take this rumour with a pinch of salt, as the Avengers sequel is still 3 years away, meaning that why would they be casting any additional characters now?

Marvel is very much busy, on Filming Iron Man 3 and Thor: the Dark World, prepping for a possible January start date on Ant-Man with Captain America: The Winter Soldier getting ready to shoot in March, and not to mention probably one of Marvel’s riskiest franchises to date, Guardians of the Galaxy, which is very much in pre-production. It goes without saying that Marvel is quite busy at the moment, and if Ms Marvel is in the process of getting cast it would probably mean she would be featured in one of the movies that I mentioned above.

Or Maybe Danvers might just pop up in the S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series for a few episodes? CLICK HERE TO SEE WHAT WE THINK YOU CAN SEE IN THE S.H.I.E.L.D.TV SERIES.

But then again this is just a rumour so treat it as such, Wasp was originally featured as a possible character in the Avengers before she got scrapped from the script, so don’t get to excited and expect to see Danvers appear in Avengers 2 until Marvel Studios confirm this.

Joss Whedon will be back to write and direct Avengers 2, which opens May 1, 2015 .
