ComingSoon.net has learned that Matt Reeves will be taking
over the Dawon of the Planet of the Apes as Rupert Wyatt has left the
franchise.

Reeves' credits include Cloverfield and Let Me In. He also
co-created the TV series "Felicity."
The first film, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, was directed
by Rupert Wyatt and earned an impressive $481.8 million worldwide on a budget
of $93 million. The first film starred James Franco, Freida Pinto, John
Lithgow, Brian Cox, Tom Felton, David Oyelowo and Andy Serkis.
The studio previously set a M 2014 release for Dawn of the
Planet of the Apes. Scott Z. Burns, Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa are providing
the screenplay.
