Scarlett Johansson will reenact cinema's most famous shower
scene for director Sacha Gervasi's feature film Alfred Hitchcock and the Making
of Psycho.
Variety reports that the Avengers starlet will play actress
Janet Leigh in the film, which has also cast British actor James D'Arcy (Master
and Commander) as the late Anthony Perkins, who played serial killer Norman
Bates in the Psycho series. Leigh played the doomed Marion Crane, slain in the
shower by Bates in the 1960 slasher classic.
Anthony Hopkins will play director Alfred Hitchcock and
Helen Mirren his wife Alma Reville. The John McLaughlin-scripted film is based
on Stephen Rebello's book. The Hollywood Reporter says the focus of the film is
on Hitch and Alma and that Johansson's role as Leigh will be smaller.
