Christian Bale had just recently joined director Scott Cooper for Out of the Furnace, and there has already been more casting news surrounding the film.

According to JoBlo.com, Viggo Mortensen is now in talks to play the film's antagonist. Casey Affleck, Garrett Hedlund, Taylor Kitsch and Channing Tatum are all in consideration to play Bale's brother, whose death inspires Bale's character Slim to seek revenge, presumably against Mortensen.

However, no formal deals have been made outside of Bale and Bradley Cooper. Production is currently slated to begin before this summer
