Star Trek's Zoe Saldana will join Christian Bale in Scott
Cooper's Out of the Furnace.
The news comes mere days after rumors surrounding Viggo
Mortensen's involvement with the project.

Casey Affleck has been cast to play the part of Bale's
brother
Saldana will play the girlfriend of Slim (Bale), who has
just been released from prison. Although he has intentions of settling down and
marrying up, Slim gets swept up in a quest for revenge after his brother is
murdered at the hands of a gambling racket.
Production is slated for the spring, just before Bale begins
shooting his next project Knight of Cups.
