- 2 HOBBITS IN ONE
It seems that Martin Freeman won't be the only actor playing Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit.
Director Peter Jackson posted on his Facebook page that Ian Holm, who played Bilbo in the original Lord of the Rings trilogy, would reprise his role as the elderly Baggins in the two-part screen adaptation of the J.R.R. Tolkien classic, the hobbit.
The Hobbit is now filming in New Zealand, with Part 1 set for a late 2012 debut.
- SPEED RACER GETS SAVAGE
Emile Hirsch , star of Speed Racer, Alpha Dog & Into the wild, will be joining the cast of Oliver Stone's Savages.
Based on the novel by Don Winslow, “the book features two friends from Laguna Beach (Aaron Johnson, Taylor Kitsch) who share the same girlfriend (Blake Lively) and a thriving business growing and distributing the best-quality pot on the planet. When they resist being muscled by a Mexican drug cartel, the girl is kidnapped and the ransom is every cent they've made for the last five years. They agree to pay but hatch an alternate plan to get her back, get revenge, and then get lost.”
Salma Hayek will play the role of Mexican cartel queen-pin Elena and Benicio Del Toro is portraying vicious cartel enforcer Lado. John Travolta and Uma Thurman are still in talks to join the film.
You can catch Emile Hirsch in his next film, The Darkest Hour, which releases the end of this year.
