THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE (Rumours)

  • THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE

The coveted role of former tribute Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has reportedly been narrowed down to eight contenders, one of whom is, like star Jennifer Lawrence, an alum of X-Men: First Class.

X-Men: Havok - Lucas Till and Aquaman - Alan Ritchson
Zap2It claims that Lucas Till, who played Havok in last year's X-Men reboot to Lawrence's Mystique, is "among the actors who will meet with Lionsgate over the next few days." Apparently not content with just one superhero being in the running for the role, the site also claims that Alan Ritchson, aka Smallville's Aquaman, is another contender.

In addition to Till and Ritchson and previously reported contenders Armie Hammer and Garrett Hedlund, the list is also said to include model-actor Trevor Donovan (90210).

However, this rumor flies in the face of what Hunger Games producer Nina Jacobson told The Los Angeles Times over the weekend. She said the race for the role of Finnick remains wide open: "We’ve not narrowed things down by any means. It’s funny to see how things can take on a life of their own."
