Jackie Chan is developing a new English-language action
comedy, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter. Newcomer Jay Longino has been
brought aboard to provide the screenplay, based on an idea of Chan's.

Set to be produced in China, the comedy will feature Chan as
a detective hired to find an American gambler who owes a substantial amount of
money to a Macau-based casino.
Though Chan has appeared recently in films like The Karate
Kid and as a voice in both Kung Fu Panda films, his last English language
comedy was The Spy Next Door in 2010, which failed to find a significant
audience.
