The world's greatest secret agent celebrates his 50th
anniversary this year. Agent 007 has a brand new movie, Skyfall, coming out in
November, but now he has just been assigned a special mission ordered straight
from the Queen herself! Literally!
Queen Elizabeth
herself asked James Bond actor Daniel Craig and Oscar-winning director Danny
Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours) to create a brand-new short film, titled
"The Arrival", featuring Bond being asked to start the 2012 London
Summer Olympics. Craig and Boyle were given "unprecedented access to
[Buckingham Palace] and its private rooms".
The short will be shown on July 27th during BBC's coverage
of the games, though it is expected to premiere online before then.
