- STEVE JOBS INDIE FILM
It's no April Fool's Joke as Variety is reporting that
"Two and a Half Men" star Ashton Kutcher has landed the part of Apple
co-founder, the late Steve Jobs, in the upcoming indie biopic Jobs, directed by
Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote) from a screenplay by Matt Whiteley.
Kutcher's name was brought up shortly after Jobs' passing
last October due to his resemblance to the Apple CEO during his early days as a
hippie, which will be the starting point for the movie as it follows his path
to becoming one of the most respected tech pioneers and businessmen.
A Young Steve Jobs, and Ashton Kutcher, there is some resemblance |
Stern's past directing gigs include the 2005 Aaron Eckhart
movie Neverwas, Kevin Costner's political comedy Swing Vote and he's attached
to direct the R-rated Carnaval, teaming John Cusack and Johnny Knoxville.
The movie will be financed by Mark Hulme at Five Star
Institute and is scheduled to start production once Kutcher goes on hiatus from
the CBS series.
This however, will not be the film that will based on
Steve’s Biography that came out recently, as Sony acquired the film rights to
that.
