Liam Hemsworth is the latest name to join the cast of The
Expendables 2, Variety reports. There's no word on his role quite yet, but he
marks a surprisingly youthful addition to the cast of seasoned action stars,
already slated to include Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Arnold
Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Co-written and directed by Stallone, the original
Expendables also starred Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts,
Randy Couture, Steve Austin, David Zayas, Giselle Itie, Charisma Carpenter,
Gary Daniels, Terry Crews and Mickey Rourke. But it still hasn’t been confirmed who of the
original team will be returning to the film. We do know that Chuck Norris will
be amking a cameo appearance and that Nicolas Cage and John Travolta are in
talks to join this testotstreone filled film. We think Michelle Rodriguez
should also be included!!
Hemsworth is set to appear early next year in The Hunger
Games and will play a leading role in the upcoming AWOL as well.
The Expendables 2 will begin filming next month in Bulgaria
and is planning an August 17, 2012 release.
