MASS EFFECT (In Development)

  • MASS EFFECT

Commander Shepard won't be a woman if and when the Mass Effect finally becomes a reality.

Kotaku dug up this blog entry at production company Legendary Pictures' official site -- which was posted back after July's San Diego Comic-Con, but has remained practically unseen until now -- that answers some of the biggest questions fans have posed about the highly anticipated video game movie.

In addition to Shepard being a man in the film, Seth Green will also not play Joker (a role he has voiced in the games).

But what's confusing about Legendary's blog entry is that they say the movie won't be based on any particular Mass Effect game -- "It will be a completely new story." -- but that contradicts what screenwriter Mark Protosevich said at Legendary's SDCC panel. Protosevich said that while he believes Mass Effect has a mythology as rich and deep as those of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, they're focusing solely on the first game for the movie.

So will the story follow the game or will it be new?? Will the movie be a success or will it flop??? You decide….
