A cast is coming together for writer/director James Ponsoldt's Smashed, Variety reports. Aaron Paul, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Nick Offerman and Octavia Spencer are all up for roles in the indie drama.

Co-written with Susan Burke, the story would see Winstead and Paul as a married couple with a shared penchant for drinking who have their lives turned on end when Winstead's character decides to quit and begins attending AA.

Winstead headlines the upcoming prequel, The Thing while Paul is best known for his role on "Breaking Bad". Spencer just appeared in the box office hit "The Help" and would play a friend to Winstead's character. Offerman, best known for "Parks and Recreation", would play an elementary school assistant principal
