Director David Fincher (Social Network & The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) is reportedly "circling"
Sony Pictures' epic Cleopatra, which has Angelina Jolie attached to play the
title role.

Variety says Cleopatra will reunite Fincher with his Social
Network producer Scott Rudin and his Curious Case of Benjamin Button
screenwriter Eric Roth, who is poised to succeed Brian Helgeland in adapting
Stacy Schiff's book Cleopatra: A Life. Should he close a deal, Roth is expected
to start scripting within the next few weeks.
The trade adds it's now uncertain whether Cleopatra will be
shot in 3D, which at one point was going to be the case.
