Steve Carell has attached himself to an action comedy
called Conviction, Deadline reports.
The project, originally designed as a straight action
thriller, is going to be rewritten to play as a comedy. The original version
had the leading character getting out of prison in exchange for helping to
catch his former protege, about to pull off a significant heist.
Written by Jonathan Herman, Conviction will be produced by
Joel Silver.
Carrell recently appeared in Crazy, Stupid, Love and can
next be seen on the big screen in Seeking a Friend at the End of the World and
Great Hope Springs.
