Ming-Na Wen

Joss Whedon has cast ER's Ming-Na Wen in Marvel's upcoming S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series that he's developing. Wen will play Agent Melinda May, who is described as "soulful and slightly damaged by her combat experiences, Melinda is an ace pilot, a weapons expert and a soldier who can — and has — gone beyond the call of duty."

She's the second actor to be cast in the series, as she joins Clark Gregg who will reprise his role as Agent Phil Coulson,, the titular character of the series.

The story will revolve around the activities of the top-secret S.H.I.E.L.D espionage organization featured in The Avengers. Whedon is tentatively set to direct the pilot for the series, that he will write along side his brother Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen
