with official and rumoured news making headlines all over the Internet. We got

and who might just be popping into Captain America: The Winter Soldier Check
out all these interesting tidbits below:
Walt Disney Pictures has released the official synopsis for
Marvel Studios' Thor: The Dark World, coming to theaters on November 8, 2013.
Check out the full synopsis below!
Thor on set |
"Marvel's "Thor: The Dark World" continues the
big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth
and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself.
In the aftermath of Marvel's "Thor" and "Marvel's The
Avengers," Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos...but an ancient
race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into
darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor
must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will
reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us
all.
Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston,
Stellan SkarsgÄrd, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje,
Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander
with Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins as Odin, "Thor: The Dark World"
is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, from a story by Don Payne
(credit not final) and screenplay by Christopher Yost and Christopher Markus
& Stephen McFeely (credit not final) and is based on Marvel's classic Super
Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book "Journey into
Mystery" #83 in August, 1962.
"Thor: The Dark World" is presented by Marvel
Studios. The executive producers are Louis D'Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee,
Victoria Alonso, Craig Kyle and Nigel Gostelow. The film releases November 8,
2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures."
Director James Gunn might still be busy re-writing the
script for the Guardians of the Galaxy, but it would seem some light as been
shed on some of these characters and the roles that they will be playing in the
film.
Marvel previously announced that the feature film iteration
of the comics series would feature the following characters: Star-Lord, Gamora,
Drax The Destroyer, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot.
Drax the Destroyer, Star-Lord and Gamora |
Latino Review reports that these introductory Guardians of
the Galaxy feature will focus mainly on three of those characters: Star-Lord,
Gamora, and Drax the Destroyer.
This approach makes plenty of sense, as these are the
characters that will be the most relatable to audiences unfamiliar with the
Guardians series. Star-Lord is a U.S.
pilot who ends up in space in the middle of a universal conflict, so he’s a
natural protagonist to introduce audiences to the world of Guardians.
While Gamora and Drax the Destroyer (who was once a human)
both have connections to the purple titan, who can be seen smiling in the post
credit scene of the Avengers, formerly known as THANOS.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead |
As for Rocket Raccoon and Groot, well ones a kick ass action
packed funny as hell talking Raccoon and the other is a Tree who can only say I
Am Groot, so having them be more of supporting players in the film, certainly
does make sense.
As for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, we recently posted
the shortlist of actresses that were poised to test for the film’s female lead:
Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Alison Brie (Community), and Jessica Brown
Findlay (Downton Abbey). The role is
that of Sharon Carter (aka Agent 13), the niece of The First Avenger’s female
lead Peggy Carter.
LR, however, hears that Marvel has their eye on a different
actress for the role: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World star Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
Winstead is apparently the actress that Marvel currently has the most traction
with for the role, but it doesn’t sound like any offers or deals have been made
just yet. I picked Winstead to be Jessica Drew in my Marvel Fan-Cast which you can see by CLICKING HERE, but I would certainly not be disappointed if she
landed the role of Sharon Carter.
In other Captain America 2 casting rumors, Marvel is currently
looking to fill two “very physical” male roles that are assumed to be
villains. LR hears that for one of the
parts, Marvel is keen on either Lost actor Josh Holloway or Game of Thrones
star Nikolaj Coster Waldau. Well it can’t be confirmed as to what role either
of these actors are up for, we can certainly think the role might be for Baron
Zemo.
Nikolaj Coster Waldau and Josh Holloway up for roles in The Winter Soldier |
Now we just speculating but seeing as Zemo plays a big role
in the Winter Soldier storyline in the comics and given that these two actors
are excellent talents, a role like Zemo would certainly suit either well. (But
I would want Nikolaj for the role truthfully).
Remember this is mostly speculation nothing has been
confirmed as yet.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier starts production in
March and hits theaters on April 4th, 2014, while Guardians of the Galaxy opens
on August 1st, 2014.
Now to Iron Man 3 news as Composer Brian Tyler has announced

Nova," The Expendables 2, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3" and
"Transformers Prime." His previous films include Eagle Eye, Fast and
Furious, The Expendables, Rambo, Law Abiding Citizen, Constantine, Battle: Los
Angeles, Fast Five and Final Destination 5.
