Recently we reported director Carl Rinsch was yanked from
Universal's 47 Ronin due to a swell in the film's budget. Now it seems like
that report wasn’t exactly true.

According to Deadline, Rinsch is still very much a part of
the project, working side by side with the studio in the editing room. Sources
"swear" that 47 Ronin's budget has not and will not cross over $200
million, even with the recent reshoot and release delays. Nevertheless,
Universal is reportedly taking a more active hand in the post-production process.
47 Ronin stars Keanu Reeves and is still scheduled to hit
theaters on December 25, 2013.
