| Iron Man's new Armour not Mark 8?? Mark 47!! |
Over the course of Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and The Avengers,
we’ve seen Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) go through seven different Iron Man
armors.
At comic-con this year Marvel unveiled the new armor that
inverts the red-gold color scheme, and pretty much the whole world assumed this
was the Mark VIII (8) armor.

According to Latino Review, The Mandarin’s (Kingsley)
Extremis bad guys are going to be too powerful for a mano-y-mano fight, so Tony
(as is his way) changes the game. Before
going out to the fight, he mentions the Mark XLVII (47) to Pepper (Paltrow),
and she asks what happens to the other marks in between, “and Tony just
smiles.”
The Mark XLVII (47) allows Tony to control other armors in
battle, so he would basically have drones on his side to fight against the
villains.
The film also stars Ben Kingsley, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don
Cheadle, Rebecca Hall, Ashley Hamilton, James Badge Dale, and Guy Pearce. Iron Man 3 opens May 3, 2013.
