BleedingCool was recently at the premiere of The Sweeney
tonight, and they were able to get a hold of co-star Hayley Atwell, who starred
as Peggy in Captain America: the First Avenger. They then asked her about her
involvement in the next film, CA: The Winter Soldier, whereby she gave an interesting
answer.
When asked if she’d be back to reprise the role of Peggy
Carter, maybe even take on the next-gen guise of Sharon Carter, Ms. Atwell
said:
“I can’t say yet because it hasn’t been officially released,
and Marvel are very protective of their franchise.
Well if she wasn’t returning, she would have just said no,
or that she hopes she would be, or that she hasn’t heard anything from Marvel
as yet. So right now we thinking she already knows what is happening with her
character.
Whether we will end up seeing Atwell don prospects to play a 95 year
old Peggy, or if she would just be utilized in flashbacks scenes, a dream sequence
scene or end returning as Sharon Carter, remains to be seen.

But one thing is for sure, Atwell knows!! We will just have
to wait and see.
