- Y: THE LAST MAN
Planned for development as a feature film almost as far back
as its 2002 comic book debut, Brian K. Vaughn and Pia Guerra's Y: The Last Man
may finally be on the way to the big screen.

Vulture is reporting that New Line Cinema is pleased with
Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia's screenplay for the adaptation and that a
search is underway for a director.
Y tells the story of Yorick Brown, a young man who, along
with his capuchin monkey, somehow survives a catastrophic event that kills off
every living creature with a Y chromosome. Left in a world of only women,
Yorick teams with a government operative, 355, to try and uncover the truth
about the plague and why he and he alone made it through alive.
Although set against an epically scaled science fiction
backdrop, the 60-issue series serves as an exploration of modern gender
politics and ultimately becomes an intimate coming-of-age drama.
D.J. Caruso was among those previously interested in
directing the film feature and Shia LaBeouf was formerly attached to play
Yorick.
It will be interesting to see who they get in to bring this
to life?
Who do you think should be brought in to direct or star? Let
