- MAGIC MIKE 2
Its been a very good year for actor Channing Tatum with 21
Jump Street and Magic Mike, and The Vow all being smash hits at box office. Now he’s attached to numerous projects, and
he talked about a couple of them while walking the red carpet for his new film,
10 Years. While Tatum has been rumored
to direct Magic Mike 2, he clarified that he doesn’t want the gig. He also talked about The Wachowski Siblings‘
upcoming sci-fi film, Jupiter Ascending.

Speaking to MTV, Tatum talked about what he’d like to see
for Magic Mike 2, but he’s not sure if the movie will become a reality:
“We don’t even know yet.
We want it to be. We want it to
happen. We want it to be a road trip
movie, but Soderbergh’s not directing.
He’s done. He’s like actually
gone. I don’t know. It’s hard to imagine doing the movie without
him.
Tatum also said that he’s not interested in directing
because he doesn’t want to have to follow director Steven Soderbergh:
“Who wants to direct their first movie after
Soderbergh? I’m not doing that. I’m a little smarter than that. Greg Jacobs might do it. He’s a producing partner. They’ve worked together on over twenty-five
films, so he might helm it.”
Moving on to Jupiter Ascending, Tatum says the film is going
to happen and they have a start date:
“It’s definitely going.
We’re going to start in February of next year.”
The plot is rumored to be about a poor Russian immigrant
(Mila Kunis) who scrubs toilets for a living, but then she discovers she
“possesses the same perfect genetic makeup as the Queen of the Universe and is
therefore a threat to her otherwise immortal rule.” It’s a strange premise, but Tatum says we
should expect the unexpected:
“You can’t even imagine.
They’re going to change the game again!”
Well that sounds like we should be real excited for that!
