X-Men star Hugh Jackman has been confirmed as starring in
the thriller Prisoners for Alcon Entertainment and director Denis Villeneuve.
Variety adds that Oscar winner Melissa Leo (The Fighter,
Treme) has also joined the cast of the Aaron Guzikowski-scripted film, which is
slated to begin filming next year for a fall 2013 release via Warner Bros.
The trade says Prisoners "revolves around a small-town
carpenter whose young daughter and best friend are kidnapped. After the cops
fail to find them, he takes the law into his own hands, but in the process runs
up against the big city detective assigned to the case."
