The cast for Captain America: The Winter Soldier is heating up, with three actresses apparently in the running for the film’s female lead.

Anna Kendrick, Imogen Poots and Felicity Jones
According to the New York Post, Anna Kendrick – who appeared in Scott Pilgrim and The Twilight Saga – is up for the role, alongside Felicity Jones (Cemetery Junction) and Imogen Poots (28 Weeks Later).

There is no indication of the character these fine actresses are up for, but we just guessing that it might be Sharon Carter, Peggy’s niece and long time love interest of Captain America in the comics. It could also be Bernie Rosenthal, who lived in the apartment above Cap, when both characters lived in New York. They were even engaged once upon a time. I wouldn’t be surprised if Bernie turns out to be the actual role that these girls are vying for.

Anthony Mackie is rumoured to have landed the role of Cap’s partner Falcon, while Chris Evans will be returning as the title character.

I was kinda hoping that Imogen Poots would get the role of Enchantress! READ MORE ABOUT THAT BY CLICKING HERE

Joe and Anthony Russo are directing the super-sequel, which will hit cinemas summer 2014.
