- JACK RYAN TRILOGY
The big screen return of Tom Clancy's CIA hero Jack Ryan to the big screen is poised to begin filming soon with Chris Pine in the title role, Keira Knightley as Ryan's wife, Kevin Costner as his mentor William Harper, and Kenneth Branagh directing and also playing the movie's Russian villain.
Deadline reports that Paramount sees the Jack Ryan film as the first installment in a trilogy, and was so keen on Pine and the Ryan brand that they waited until Pine wrapped Star Trek 2 so they could get the script together and start production.
The site claims Jack Ryan is slated for release in the fourth quarter of 2013. The story -- scripted by Adam Cozad, Anthony Peckham, and David Koepp -- is said to be an original yarn chronicling Jack Ryan's early career as a fledgling CIA employee.
