Principal photography has begun on Alcon Entertainment’s
Beautiful Creatures, based on the first novel in the best-selling series by
Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl. Oscar nominee Richard LaGravenese (The Fisher

The film stars Alden Ehrenreich, newcomer Alice Englert, and
Academy Award winners Jeremy Irons and Emma Thompson, Oscar nominee Viola Davis
and Emmy Rossum.
Described as "a hauntingly intense, supernatural love
story," Beautiful Creatures is set in the South and is about two
star-crossed teenage lovers: Ethan (Ehrenreich), a local boy, and a mysterious
new girl, Lena (Englert), who uncover dark secrets about their respective families,
their history and their town.
Shooting in and around New Orleans, Beautiful Creatures is a
presentation of Alcon Entertainment and will be distributed by Warner Bros.
Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment company.
