- IDENTITY THIEF
Jon Favreau is heading back to the big screen as an actor.
Variety reports that the Iron Man director has joined the cast of Universal
Pictures' Identity Thief. He'll star opposite Jason Bateman, Melissa McCarthy,
Amanda Peet, John Cho, Clark Duke and Maggie Elizabeth Jones in the Seth Gordon
comedy.

The film features Bateman's character as the victim of an
identity theft by McCarthy's character. Originally written for a male character
on the criminal end of things, the script was reportedly rewritten specifically
for McCarthy. Steve Conrad (The Weather Man, The Pursuit of Happyness) wrote
the first draft with subsequent rewrites by Craig Mazin (The Hangover Part II).
There's no word yet on what role Favreau will play, but with
the film going into production, you can expect that to be revealed soon.
