- MILLION DOLLAR ARM
"Mad Men" star John Hamm has, according to
Deadline, signed on to play sports agent J.B. Bernstein in the upcoming Million
Dollar Arm.
The film, scripted by Tom McCarhty, is based on the true
story of Bernstein and how he discovered professional pitchers Rinku Singh and
Dinesh Patel through his Indian reality show.
The show, "Million Dollar Arm," launched in India
in 2008. More than 40,000 contestants auditioned, including Singh and Patel,
who emerged as the two finalists and eventually signed professional contracts
with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Mark Ciardi, Gordon Gray, Palak Patel and Joe Roth are
producing with a plan of starting production this fall.
