The filmmaker said that "the much-anticipated project
is intended to be a sequel to the renowned original.” He then went to reveal
only that the new story will take place some years after the first film
concluded.
Scott said, "I started my first meetings on the Blade
Runner sequel last week. We have a very good take on it. And we'll definitely
be featuring a female protagonist."
Much like Sigourney Weaver in Alien, Noomi Rapace also leads
Scott's Prometheus, which opens in theaters on June 8.
Ridley Scott is next doing The Counselor, but he's also got
the Getrude Bell film in the works with Angelina Jolie attached to star.
