Universal's planned big screen version of the classic video
game Asteroids is still in development despite Roland Emmerich recently passing
on directing it.
The Hollywood Reporter says screenwriter Evan Spiliotopoulos
(Snow White and the Huntsman, Battle for Terra, Pooh's Heffalump Movie) has
been tapped to script the project for producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura and
David Foster.
"The plotline for the film adaptation has evolved into
the story of two estranged brothers that must team up to save Earth from an
alien race," according to THR.
