Etan Cohen to write Ghostbusters 3

Dan Aykroyd recently revealed that a "new writing staff" had been hired to pen the screenplay for Sony's Ghostbusters 3. Now, we learn that Men in Black 3 scribe, Etan Cohen, has been tapped to write a draft for the studio. (The Office's Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky were the previous screenwriters on the project.)

According to Variety, the new film is expected to center on original cast members Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and Aykroyd as they pass the torch to a new generation of ghostbusters. However, it is still uncertain whether Murray will be reprising his role for the third installment. We really hope that he does!!

In addition to MIB3, Cohen's other writing credits include Tropic Thunder and Mike Judge's Idiocracy. The writer is also set to make his directorial debut with Boyscouts vs. Zombies, a new horror comedy from Paramount.
